Frequently Asked Questions

Is Code Transportation Owned By Any Affiliate Entity?
No! Code Transportation is independently owned and operated. Code Transportation is also the parent company of Motorpro Express as well as Luxor Transportation & Drive Away. 

What type of freight does Code Transportation haul?
Code Transportation is a general freight hauler. Our equipment includes dry van, reefer, flatbed, & step deck trailers.

What are the travel territories?
Code Transportation covers the lower 48 states. We often opt to not send trucks to certain states such as CA, OR, WA, & New England States, yet we do not restrict owner operators to go to such states at his/her discretion.
 
What is the pay?
Currently, our pay rate varies based upon many factors. Owner Operators receive 78% of line haul rate booked. Company drivers have the option to choose between per mile pay rate or guaranteed weekly pay rate. No matter what position you hold with the company, you are in charge of your earnings. 

Is the 22% deduction from O/O all in? 
Yes! The 22% deduction is an all in deduction. The only deduction not included in this rate if fuel used by owner operator. Fuel will show as an additional deduction. 
 
How often do you all pay?
Our pay period is weekly. We pay every Thursday via direct deposit, EFS Pay Card, or Moneycode
 
Do you offer a QuickPay option? 
Yes! We do offer a QuickPay option to owner operators who have submitted all documents for settlements. QuickPay is paid the following business day. Company drivers are also eligible for QuickPay after he/she has completed probationary period.
 
What is the home time? 
Here at Code Transportation, we understand the importance of family and home time. Over the road drivers receive 1.5 day home time for every 7 days worked. After 14 days, driver will be provided the 3 days accrued home time plus 1 day match for a total of 4 days. Regional drivers on will be scheduled weekly home time. Although we strive to get drivers home, we can not guarantee any specified dates. 
 
Do you all work holidays?
No! All administration offices are closed on major holidays and we strive to assure drivers are home with their families. For drivers whom can not or opt to work through major holidays, we offer bonuses for those days worked by both driver and owner operators. 
 
Do company trucks have any amenities?
When we receive a new truck, we assure new appliances are installed before assigning a driver. Every company sleeper truck is equipped with power inverter, microwave, refrigerator, wireless printer and television before release to new driver. We also replace mattress in any trucks that are exchanging drivers. 
 
Do you hire drivers with a background?
Yes! We do hire drivers with a background. Upon receiving application, we take into consideration many factors such as offense(s), length of time since sentencing completions, and any additional factors that may arise. Please note, we do not hire individuals who have been convicted of D.U.I. within the last 7 years or any type of trafficking through interstate commerce. 
 
I have completed a S.A.P. program, am I eligible for hire?
Once S.A.P. program is complete, we will evaluate driver's application and consider based upon various factors. Please note, a Return-To-Duty Screening is required at driver's expense before continuing the onboarding process. If passed, driver will proceed to onboarding process. For drivers who are required to complete a S.A.P. program, driver may be subject to additional withholdings due to higher insurance premiums etc.  
 
How much is the escrow limit?
Code Transportation Companies does not withhold any escrow. We do advise owner operators may be subject to withholding of quickpay for various reasons such as charge back or incomplete paperwork at time of settlement. These holds are only held for up to 30 days. Funds are automatically released once the load has been cleared by broker with no claims or 30 days has passed. 
 
Can I self-dispatch?
Owner Operators are permitted to self-dispatch after completion of 5 successful loads. 
 
Will the company  provide Bobtail and Deadhead insurance coverage?
Yes! We can provide bobtail and deadhead coverage to driver. Payment for insurance will be deducted weekly.

Does Code Transporation require drivers to have dashcam installed? 
Yes! We do require all drivers have some form of dashcam installed. We may provide dashcams via our ELD provider Motive which will be external only no in cab camera will be installed. 

Is Legal Shield Required To Drive For Code Transportation?
No! Legal Shield is not required to drive for Code but we do recommend drivers be protected as we know things can occur daily and want to assure our drivers are provided the best representation at all times.

Do you offer truck rentals for owner operators during breakdown? 
Code Transportation Companies does not offer rentals from our fleet, but we do partner with rental agencies such as Ryder and will allow an owner operator to utilize our account to rent a truck when his/her truck is down. During this time, Owner Operator may not receive quickpay option while under a rental vehicle as the rental fees will be deducted from settlements weekly.


Do you offer lease purchase option for aspiring owner operators?
Code Transportation does assist drivers with lease purchasing a tractor. Unlike most companies, we don't force you into a tractor we have likely recycled various times and require you to stay leased on. Instead, we refer you to several dealerships we shop with directly to assist you with the lease purchase option.
